A browser can fade the page background, but Windows controls true pop-up window transparency. Install AutoHotkey, save the helper script as a .ahk file, double-click it, launch the teleprompter, click the teleprompter window, then press Ctrl + Alt + Right Click to toggle transparency.
Good save locations: Desktop, Documents, or a dedicated Teleprompter folder. To run it automatically later, place the .ahk file in your Windows Startup folder.
